and Colleges
The installation of Security, Solar or combined Security and Solar films to window glass of Schools and Colleges can play a major part in protecting pupils and staff from a number of health and safety issues whilst enhancing the look of the property. A large number of benefits to be gained, our films can ensure all safety issues have been addressed reducing heat, glare and Ultraviolet fading whilst giving protection from vandalism, theft and injury in the event of an accident. Conforming to all British and European standards, the installation of our films to the existing glass of your building will ensure that your building is energy efficient, reducing heating and lighting costs and maintaining a pleasant environment for staff and pupils.
Safety
Internal door and window glass installed with a safety film to both sides of the glass will protect pupils or staff from injury should the glass break in the event of a trip or fall. Retaining the broken glass within the framework and sealing it between the film until a replacement has been organised will ensure maximum protection to those at risk.
Security
Security film installed to the external glass of the building will strengthen it to Bomb Blast Capabilities, withstanding impact from a variety of weapons in the event of an attempted theft or vandalism. A High tensile Polyester film installed to the existing glass of the building, the film bonds to the glass using a special laminating adhesive and will strengthen the glass to Government and consumer programme standards BS6206 and EN12600. In the event of vandalism or an attempted break in, the glass will withstand a barrage of abuse from a variety of weapons, protecting the glass and more importantly the items of value located within the building, preventing entry. This type of film has been installed to high profile buildings in major capital cities all over the world in the fight against theft and vandalism and to protect those concerned with the possible threats of terrorism.
Solar
Energy efficient Solar films installed to a buildings glass can reduce heat and glare by up to 82% whilst enhancing the look of the building. The installation of a solar film to the existing glass of the property will effectively reduce the levels of heat and glare from the sun into the building and assist in maintaining a more comfortable environment for members of staff and pupils. Present methods include the closing of blinds and curtains to reduce the heat and glare entering the building but in turn, lights are required to compensate for the lack of light now entering the building due to window furnishings being closed. Solar films will dramatically reduce the need for lights to be switched on in the daytime, saving the school on money that could be used more cost effectively in other departments.
Reducing the use of window furnishings will allow for more light to enter the building without compromising on views looking out whilst totally enhancing the look of the building from the outside.
With over 100 films to choose from depending on your requirements, Solar films can totally re modernise the look of the building from the outside, updating a building in desperate need of rejuvenation to keep up with the standards of the school. Security can be obtained with the installation of a solar film to all external glass to restrict views into the property night and day, particularly at times when the school is unoccupied.
For maximum Energy efficiency, the installation of a Heat Retention film to the existing glass of the building will give maximum protection and energy savings to your school, allowing for finances normally budgeted to heating costs to be distributed to other departments within the school. A highly reflective heat retention film will reduce heat and glare issues in the summer months, reducing the use of air conditioning and lights within the classroom. In winter months, the film will retain the heat from heating systems within the classroom, limiting the amount of heat lost through classroom windows and will therefore; reduce the need for heating systems to be turned up high on cold winter days. Reducing heating and lighting bills 12 months of the year will dramatically reduce the amount of budget spent and allow for savings made to be utilised in other areas of the school.
Ultraviolet
All solar, safety and security films contain an inhibitor which will eliminate fading on books, furniture and fabrics by 98% whilst reducing the risks of skin cancer to pupils and staff positioned near a window for long periods of time. Prevention of fading on furnishings will eliminate the regular turnover of replacement furniture and equipment allowing for greater savings to your annual budget.
