Safety

Forklift or handling equipment with glass windows can be protected with the installation of a polyester safety film to the existing glass to protect operators in the event of an industrial accident. Installed to the internal side of the glass, in the event that a heavy object should fall from a height onto the windscreen of the forklift, the film will strengthen the glass and prevent the item from falling through causing injury to the operator. Should the glass break, the film will lock the glass within the framework of the vehicle preventing the item from penetrating the glass and causing injury.

Unfortunately it is not readily known that a large percentage of forklift windscreens are manufactured using Toughened rather than the preferred laminated glass and in the event that the glass should break, the glass will enter the cabin area of the vehicle in an accident, causing injury to the operator.

Security

Security window films installed to forklift and handling equipment at risk of theft or vandalism can strengthen the standard glass of the equipment to Bomb Blast capabilities. A high tensile polyester film with bonded laminating adhesives to give the glass its strength, the film once installed to standard glass will protect the equipment against attack from vandalism and attempted theft from numerous implements. Unlike thinner safety films, the thicker, more protective security film will withstand a barrage of abuse from items such as Bricks, Bottles, Hammers and crowbars among others and keep the glass intact for a large number of strikes. After time the glass will eventually break, expanding the film and locking it within the framework of the equipment yet despite the glass being broken, the film will withstand further strikes preventing entry into the cabin area. With the noise generated from any alarm systems installed to the equipment and repeated thuds of the implement to the glass, any potential thief or vandal will generally leave the equipment after a small number of strikes in the threat of being caught, leaving the glass intact. Should the glass break, the attacker will then realise that a security measure has been installed to the glass and leave without entering the equipment, leaving the glass fragments locked within the framework of the equipment and protected from any other opportunist thief and adverse weather conditions.
